The Tales of Unearthly Encounters Review

🌟Book Review - 4/5🌟

Blurb -

This book is a collection of several short supernatural stories - stories which should not be categorized as gross horror. These stories are an attempt to bond cosmic horror with psychological horror. They question the basic nature of reality and how it is perceived. They waver somewhere between real and surreal, a misty place which should not be explored even in nightmares.

My Review :

The book upend conventional thoughts of what constitutes evil and what's frightening. Each story delivers not so ghostly but unearthly characters to preserve you on feet. It's greater supernatural than full blown horror and with evil timber, monster underneath bed.

Author also hold the same old traditional Indian horror along with modern paranormal horror, however what disappoint is that the book did not efficiently build up an environment of dread. It's too fast paced to construct the basics for the reader. Too soon, book is concluded.

  5. That's so true. Often books fail to give the dread. Maybe we need that background music and silence. But I liked the non-ghostly and unearthly. Its intriguing.

  6. Whenever I read a not so chilling horror book I play a horror background music to create the ambience and to visualize the events. Try this once. Though horror is my least preferred genre.
