⭐My rating - 4.7/5⭐

"In the City of clouds" is beautiful love story written by Author Swetarani. This is her debut book.


This book is a Romance Genre book which has connections from the historic period couple to the present life. The Story is set in Northern India.


The story revolves around Hridya, a common girl with dreams to pursue as an Engineer. She faces certain obstacles during her college life. When Destiny brings in love of her life, Aarav, a simple guy from a royal family who wishes to lead a normal life just like every one apart from the riches he have, who falls for Hridya but doesn't have confidence to reveal it to her.

But once, she finds out about his love through his diary. Yet she refuses his love and continues her relationship with him as a good friend.


Later they both part their ways, and start working. When She was on a visit to a fort, suddenly she meets Aarav there. That's were the resemblance of the historic period couple starts to unravel. She gets to know about the love story about a king who falls in love with a common girl who later married her.


Now the question is, will she fall for Aarav? Is ter any connections of the past with present? Will they both get married or will they continue to be friends?

The narration was really good and made it even more interesting. Story was well set without giving any predictions. I wanted the love story of the king to be much more in detail. Some places were a bit confusing but on the whole it was really a good story.

    The review is beautifully penned down and I get a similarity of the story to a great extent but not completely with Tremors of Love by Aditi Ray. I am sure the book will offer a good love story to read

I picked up this book because of its beautiful eye catchy cover which has a secret revelation of the story hidden in the cover which you can find if you notice sharply. When I started reading the book, I found that the main character's name was Ammara, which is my long term favt for no reason. It made it even more interesting.
